When we have smoked for decades, it’s hard to believe that we will ever be able to stop smoking cold turkey.
Many of my smoking cessation clients who come to my office or use my online hypnosis based program Smokefree123 for stop smoking hypnotherapy, can’t even remember a time when they didn’t smoke. That creates a lot of fear and self-doubt.
Like Leila (see testimonial below). She smoked for over 30 years and over a pack a day. She had COPD and knew she had to stop smoking but she just couldn’t. Maybe you can relate. You might have been smoking for decades, and you might even have developed health issues or struggles thanks to the habit. And you would love to stop smoking cold turkey, but you're stuck in the cycle of fear and doubt.
I bet you know people who stopped smoking and it was really, really hard. Maybe they even went back. I bet you also know people who stopped...
Do wine and cigarettes go together for you like Romeo and Juliet, or like cheese and crackers? Well, here's the thing...if you've been trying to quit smoking cold turkey but the wine and cigarettes have become a problem for you, or you always go back to smoking when you drink, there's probably a couple of mistakes that you’re making that you can easily correct so that you can consciously uncouple the wine from the cigarettes.
My name is Rita black and I am a clinical hypnotherapist and I am the creator of Smokefree123, which is an online stop smoking hypnotherapy program. I am a smoking cessation specialist and I am most importantly, a former pack and a half a day smoker.
I used to drink wine and smoke a lot of cigarettes at the same time. And I did think that wine and cigarettes were the perfect pair. They were kind of just like two peas in a pod, so to speak. But if you want to quit smoking cold...
If you’re a mom that smokes and you’re feeling that “smoking mom guilt” , I want you to stop feeling guilty.
I've got three big tips to help you not only stop feeling guilty, but to really start moving towards being a mom who can quit smoking cold turkey.
I’ve worked with so many moms in my clinical practice in Los Angeles, and I’ve seen a lot of tears in that practice.
Tears from moms who feel bad because they’re hiding outside in the backyard to smoke, hiding from their kids. Or they can’t wait until their kids go to bed at night so they can sneak out onto the porch to have a glass of wine and smoke.
First off, I want you to know that you’re not alone. There are a lot of moms who smoke. But what I see a lot when moms try to stop smoking, are mistakes.
Actually, there’s TWO main mistakes that I see moms make who are trying to stop smoking.
Does smoking really relax you? Or is it that we only think it’s relaxing us but it isn’t?
That’s exactly what I’ll be digging into, because a lot of people who want to stop smoking cold turkey, don’t, because they believe that smoking is the only way they can relax or handle stress.
Why do we think smoking relaxes us? Let me begin by discussing why smoking does not relax us. What smoking actually does is it agitates your mind. And so, when we expect a cigarette at a certain time, our mind becomes agitated. Most people smoke on a schedule or in a set pattern. For example, at certain times in their morning, or during breaks at work. When you can’t have that cigarette at that specific time, you become stressed and agitated. This applies to vaping as well. So if you’re trying to stop smoking by vaping, the same applies to you.
If you are on a ketogenic diet and doing intermittent fasting, or are just doing a regular ketogenic diet and are also smoking, you may want to keep reading. I have some information that may impact your ketosis, your low carb regime or your intermittent fasting. And it’s very important information for you to know. It might encourage you to stop smoking cold turkey once and for all.
I have a large practice located in Los Angeles where I help people to stop smoking cold turkey, in only one session of stop smoking hypnotherapy. Many of my clients are people who are very health conscious and into healthy eating and/or losing weight. A lot of people are intermittent fasting these days. And a lot of people are on the Ketogenic Diet.
What they don't know before they come to see me is their smoking is actually elevating their blood sugar insulin levels. If you’re intermittent fasting you want to...
Is your coffee routine the thing that gets you up and going in the morning?
And anytime that you tried to stop smoking cold turkey, is coffee the thing that you miss the most?
My name is Rita Black and I am a clinical hypnotherapist, a smoking cessation specialist and the creator of Smokefree123, which is an online stop smoking hypnotherapy program. But I'm also a former pack and a half a day smoker.
I remember smoking it up in the morning with my cup of joe. And that was my big morning event that got me out of bed and got me going for the day. And I just thought that I never could stop smoking cold turkey because of the relationship I had with coffee and cigarettes. But I'm here to tell you I've been a happy, healthy non-smoker for over 23 years and I love coffee more than ever as a non-smoker. And you can too.
I just want to cover a few mistakes that people make when they try to quit smoking regarding coffee and their morning routine....
It really isn’t your fault that you can’t stop smoking cold turkey. And I want to explain to you why that is, and how your brain works when it comes to stopping smoking, especially stopping smoking cold turkey. Then you’ll be able to understand why it isn’t your fault, and you can come from a place of power when you do stop smoking.
When it comes to quitting smoking, most of that decision to stop smoking comes from your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is the logical part of the brain. And that part of the mind makes up only 12%. That’s not a very big percentage of your mind. Which isn’t a good thing, because this is the part of the mind that knows smoking is bad for you, you shouldn’t be doing it, and that you should really stop smoking cold turkey today. But it’s only...
The more we understand about the mind, the more we realize how powerful our beliefs and thoughts are. Tools like hypnosis and meditation, which once seemed like whacky, woo woo practices, are now working their way into the mainstream. Doctors, CEOS, sports teams, and anyone who wants a mental edge, are all utilizing hypnosis to gain more control over their minds.
Twenty years ago, I was asked by my prospective stop smoking and weight loss clients if they were going to leave my office barking like a dog after their hypnosis session. But now, most clients aren’t afraid of the process. In fact, they’re actually excited about the potential power that a stop smoking hypnosis session will give them over smoking.
I want to take a few minutes to explain stop smoking hypnotherapy to you, and how it can be used to help people become happy healthy non-smokers....
Have you ever wondered why focusing on the risks of smoking, makes you want to smoke more?
I remember that when I was smoking a pack-and-a-half a day, my mom was very concerned about my smoking habit. I remember clearly one Sunday about 30 years ago, I was on the phone with her and she launched into her “I wish you would stop smoking honey, it’s so bad for you. I just read in the news that…blah, blah, blah”.
My mom had gone on to tell me about a study that proved how horrible smoking was for you, but while she was doing so another part of me suddenly just had an intense craving for a cigarette! So, I lit one up while she kept going on about the horribleness how horrible my smoking was.
Why did I do that? Was I being an idiot? Was I being a rebellious brat? No. The reason was not conscious but subconscious and far more fascinating...
I was terrified to stop smoking. In fact, if I got down to 2 cigarettes in my pack I would start to get panicky. Has that ever happened to you? I want to share with you a little about me and my former smoker self, and a little about the fears that I had about stopping smoking cold turkey, and how I began to overcome them, so that you can stop for good too.
Though I am regarded internationally as the go-to stop stop smoking hypnotherapy expert (people visit me from all over the globe to stop smoking in one session) I was once the biggest smoking fiend of them all.
I moved to NYC from Seattle in the early 80’s to attend college. New York City in the early 80’s was a tough town-muggings, punk rock and lots of attitude and angst! I started smoking, not because I wanted to smoke, but to fit in with all these...
